Pitched as Dancing with the Stars meets Dirty Dancing, and you’ve got "The Price," a story about fifteen-year-old Leanne Fountain training in New York at the School of American Ballet, directed by the legendary George Balanchine. She’s passionate yet unprepared for the fierce competitiveness and, most of all, the unspoken Darwinist mantra of survival of the thinnest.
Invited to move on, Leanne starts at a new ballet company as the principal dancer while her jealous rival—a ruthless viper—brazenly flirts with their teacher, creating heartbreak and havoc for Leanne. But it’s Sebastian who possesses a volatile and belligerent temper that she fears most.
Leanne willingly submits to being the teacher’s muse—becoming the choreographer’s clay is the greatest honor for any dancer. However, the price of following her art costs more than she could ever imagine.
