HOPPED ON POPS is a YA graphic novel written by Valrie Kemp-Davis and illustrated by Charles Biggers III. It is a tool to aid children as they express their feelings and discuss their thoughts related to racial prejudice, over enforcement by police leading to brutality, and witnessing ongoing acts of violence and maltreatment upon people of color. HOPPED ON POPS acknowledges the child's fears, racial trauma, and depression. It is a catalyst to affirming emotions, allowing children to ask hard questions and express their views and opinions in a safe place and in a constructive manner. Sample Illustrations Exist.
