Thomas Montgomery
Non-fiction: Religion/Spirituality
Life can be rough on all of us. There often is a joy as well. Through this book, I am searching for partners who can celebrate joy and be a safe place for those who find themselves in the presence of trauma.

Tom Montgomery has experienced an amazing journey through life. There were lawns mowed, newspapers delivered, soda jerk, auto mechanic, grocery store stocker/bagger/ butcher, roofer, typist, musician, minister, church planter, insurance sales, and management. Tom’s ultimate joy has been found with family.
Looking back has produced many “ah ha” moments. Paul wrote that God “makes everything work out according to his plan” (Ephesians 1:11 NLT). As time passes history makes more sense. Riding in police cars as a minister has taught humility and imparted a vision of life beyond career and pleasure. Opportunities arise to listen to hurting hearts and convey God’s message of love and comfort. Several experiences are chronicled in these pages along with resulting insight.
There is a partnership between the author and those who read through these pages. We live in search for our place in God’s story. We have experienced joy as well as trauma. Thanksgiving and hope come from these. Tom’s goal is to reveal his heart, communicate love to his family and encourage others in their search for divine purpose.

Other Information:

Tom is a Navy veteran and married to Brenda well over 50 years. They share 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He has a BA in Bible and an MA in Philosophy of Religion/Apologetics. He spent years in full time ministry and retired from the insurance business that allowed him to minister to the hurting. He serves as a volunteer chaplain with a local police department – riding in police cars with an officer and experiencing what the officer experiences. This has expanded his knowledge of how unfair life can be and how God can use us to comfort others and rejoice with them when joy is appropriate.
