My pen has always been a quiet friend I could reach out to no matter what life presented. It has stayed by my side, patiently supporting me as I labored to form islands to stand on amidst my storm-tossed feelings. I was never one to make up stories. I write what I think, feel, and observe about life and my search to understand God. Most of my deep reflections have emerged in the form of poetry, as in my book, Little Cotton Heart.

My experiences have compelled me to break into prose to share what I have survived. I feel I can support others in various ways who have met with the trauma of oppression and abuse. I want to give a sense of camaraderie and hope for deliverance and healing.

After all that I have been through, I can wholeheartedly proclaim that Jesus sees, has compassion, and can set the crooked paths straight. “…Weeping may stay through the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5 NIV)
