JoAnn Fastoff lives in Chicago and is the author of the award-winning Howard Watson Mystery Intrigue series. She has written extensively for Chicago, New York and Philadelphia publications, and has written, directed and produced several one-act plays for Off-Off Broadway in New York. She has interviewed over 100 celebrities including the phenomenal late Bluesman B.B. King and the late award-winning photographer Gordon Parks. JoAnn is also a former publicist for the Grammy-award winning musical group “Kool and the Gang.” She is the mother of two adult children and grandmother of Lia.
JoAnn's books have been nominated for an Honorable Mention for the 2015 Phillis Wheatley New York Book Review Award for Excellence in Non-fiction (Two Years of Heaven); she also received an Honorable Mention from the Chicago Writers Association in 2015 for Non-Fiction; Winner of the 2013 Excellence in Literature Award (fiction) for The Lie from the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago.
JoAnn is a former finalist of the Village Gate One-Act Festival in New York and produced Live From the Warehouse, a 3-city live blues program for PBS affiliates in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York.
