Description:
Jack Waymon thrives on chaos. After spending a decade of slacking off at dead-end jobs, wasting money on booze and women, and living in a low-rent hole in Florida, he decides it is time for a change. You can only get thrown out of the same bar so many times before getting tired of it.

Jack hits the road in his rusty '85 Cadillac Fleetwood to end up in New York City with a suitcase full of clothes, an old laptop, and a mission: finish the manuscript that's been sitting on his computer for years, and turn it into a best-selling novel.

Writing a book is not easy, especially while paying the rent through a conflict-filled job where tensions reach violent levels. Jack deals with life's frustration the only way he knows: hard-drinking and acting like a spectacular a-hole. Trouble easily finds him, as his way of bull-dozing through life brings him into contact with unexpected characters in high- and low places. Between a billionaire playboy, a Russian moonshiner among other ex-convicts is his Kryptonite: beautiful women. Jack wakes up many a morning an utterly shattered mess of agony and regret in the wake of drunken euphoria, bar fights, broken laws, and wild casual sex.

The manuscript is probably the last thing Jack should worry about, even though his drive to finish it is the only thing that keeps him from losing control completely.

“No palm trees in New York” is a balls-to-the-wall freight train filled with unfocused testosterone and anger, barreling down the tracks on the verge of flying off at every corner. It's a man-on-a-mission story with a deeply flawed anti-hero who is his own worst enemy at the center, featuring black humor, colorful characters, wild action, sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, and ultimately, a search for redemption.
