Description:
A silent observer, worth keeping of secrets, the tree is an integral part of every person’s being. If trees could speak, then they would tell of their encounters—with romantic carvings of lovers on their bark, with hatchlings in warm nests on their branches, or with a passer-by seeking a few moments’ rest in their shade.
In The Trees Told Me So, the author weaves together with the trees, 11 short stories of—dreams, sins, secrets, confessions, relationships, life, and living. She draws a beautiful picture of various interesting life experiences with an honest voice. The book invokes the readers to go through each and every one of these tales while basking in the shade of their favorite tree.

‘It is a collection of 11 stories and I must say they transported me to a time deep in the recesses of my childhood, a time I will always cherish. Each story focuses on the mundane and enlivens it to create the extraordinary.’ The Reading Owl

‘I would recommend this book to all the readers who want to read unusual Indian stories about everyday life. I look forward to read more of author’s writings.’ Shikha Readster

‘With an effortlessly convincing and capturing narrative, this book is indeed a remarkable debut by Purva Grover, a journalist, playwright and stage director. According to the Preface, she listened closely to the witnesses of the stories – the trees. Hence, unequivocally, she has created a beautiful and exceptional account of various lives’. Reviews
