Where Lauren Weisberger once pulled the rope back on the world of fashion in The Devil Wears Prada, Melanie Blake rips open the bolted studio doors to the twisted reality behind the world of ‘make believe’.

RUTHLESS WOMEN takes readers on a wild ride behind the scenes of one of the world’s longest running (fictional) soap operas Falcon Bay, located in the picture-perfect cove of St Augustine’s beamed to millions three days a week from it’s picturesque Jersey based location in the stunning Channel Islands.

But the beautiful surroundings mask the ugliness in the very core of this infamous Bay. As the dawn of it’s 30th anniversary looms, the show, which was once the leading light of all dramas, is on the verge of losing it’s vital global syndication due to dwindling audiences in a world which seems to have has moved on from this quaint seaside story. The British network which owns the show is bought out by an American conglomerate headed up by the beautiful and malevolent Madeline Kane who arrives on the island to save the show from cancellation. Or does she?

Falcon Bay’s inhabitants quickly discover that life on or off screen will never be the same again.
