Aug. 29, 2019
Daniel Messino
Children's: Young Adult Fiction
Avril Santana is almost 15 years old but hasn’t kissed anyone. This, however, is the least of her problems because despite being a very intelligent and beautiful young woman, she only has one friend: Benjamin Choep Wolinsky or Bencho, as everyone knows him. Avril’s mother Mariana, a fashion icon, fan of Megan Tranor, organic food lover and Youtube star is the kind of mother every young girl dreams about… Except for Avril, of course. When an unfortunate incident at Avril’s birthday party sets Mariana’s latest mad plan into motion, Avril finds herself being dragged to India to escape from an eventual divorce. Dragging Bencho, who’s the frequent victim of bullying, along with her Avril sets out on an adventure that will allow her to understand the true value of friends, fall in love with a Hindu prince and finally see that the world is made up not of rules but of possibilities.

Buenos días Avril, ¡estás en Delhi! Hold wide appeal for fans of the Netflix show Sex Education, Glee, Gossip Girl and Degrassi Next Generation. The novel deals with relevant topics such as bullying, racism, multiculturalism, terrorist attacks and the feelings of insecurity that many young people have begun to experience following the 2017 attack that happened at the end of the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
