Valerie Storey
Fiction: General/Other
In 1929 Chicago, the accidental death of nine-year-old Adela von Helford, daughter of the celebrated Russian ballerina, Sophie Simonova, ignites a series of decisive turning-points and tragedies that will affect not only her half-sister, Violette, and her twin brother, Teddy, but also generations of family and strangers to come. A story about marriage, false impressions, and the human need to create meaning from random and unrelated events, The Abyssal Plain brings together an eclectic group of characters in search of themselves and each other.
