BookEnds Literary Agency
136 Long Hill Rd, Gillette, NJ 07933

Since opening its doors in 1999, BookEnds Literary Agency has never strayed from our original goal: Achieving dreams and doing what we love. Representing fiction and nonfiction for adults and children alike, BookEnds agents continue to live their dreams while helping authors achieve theirs.

First opened as a book packaging company, we were originally looking to take our own fresh and fun ideas and find just the right people to create the books publishers and readers were looking for. Over time, we missed working on fiction and seeing what could come from an author's imagination as well as an author's platform. So not two years after opening its doors, BookEnds changed its literary status to Agency.

While the industry has changed, and BookEnds has grown, the one thing we've never lost is our passion and love for books and the authors who create them.

After four years as a Literary Agents Assistant, Tracy Marchini left to pursue her own editorial business and to earn her MFA in Writing for Children. With ten years of experience either at an agency or working as a freelance children's editor, she joined BookEnds in June of 2016 and is excited to grow her list of both award-winning and debut authors and illustrators.

Her debut picture book, Chicken Wants A Nap, is now available from Creative Editions.

Tracy Marchini is looking for picture book, middle grade and young adult manuscripts across most genres, including contemporary, mysteries, thrillers, magical realism, historical fiction, graphic novels and non-fiction. She's also seeking picture book illustrators and author-illustrators. For picture book fiction, she’s particularly interested in manuscripts that are laugh out loud funny or deliciously dark. For middle grade and young adult, she’s interested in underdogs, strong female characters and/or unreliable narrators. She believes that it’s important for readers of all backgrounds to see themselves reflected in the media they consume, and is looking to bring that diversity to her list.

She is not a good fit for YA horror, true crime, hard sci-fi or high fantasy. At this time, she is not looking for board books, early chapter books or non-fiction for the educational market.
