PREVIOUS PUBLISHING EXPERIENCE
I work with writers who are at all stages of their careers, from not-yet-published first novelists and memoirists to seasoned, bestselling authors. I work with writers on every level of their writing—from creating the architecture that will best hold their stories together, to polishing their prose sentence by sentence. I have been privileged to work with multiple highly acclaimed, bestselling, and award-winning authors, including J. R. Moehringer, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Andrew Young, Jim Fergus, Steve Lopez, T. Jefferson Parker, Cecelia Ahern, Lynn Cullen, and Renée Rosen. Over the course of my career I have worked in-house as an Executive Editor for HarperCollins, Anchor/Doubleday, Hyperion, and G.P. Putnam’s Sons, but my greatest satisfaction has come from working closely with authors without the restrictions and practical demands that are inherent to the publisher-author relationship. I bring to my clients a particular understanding of the complex task of telling a story well, and insight into the practices and expectations of the book publishing industry. I am also a writer, and my first YA fantasy novel will be published by Margaret K. McElderry Books (a division of Simon & Schuster Children's Books) in Spring 2017.
