Mimi Jones Hedwig

I spent many years in publishing, starting out at Viking Press where, as an editorial assistant in charge of the slush pile, I discovered Judith Guest's Ordinary People (the first unsolicited manuscript to be published in 27 years), was promoted to editor and assisted it in becoming a bestseller and an Oscar-winning movie. I then moved to magazines, where I specialized in doing book excerpts and condensations, first as a fiction editor for Redbook, then as a nonfiction editor for Family Circle and Reader's Digest. In 2008 I left full-time editorial work to focus on my writing. I have two completed novels and a memoir for which I'm seeking agent representation.
