I'm a music writer and observer of online culture who's looking for an agent to help me shop nonfiction books about music and technology.
I've been online since 1990 (when I was in high school) and have owned the domain name maura.com since 1996.
I've been writing about music since college, and my editorship of Idolator.com and the Village Voice's music section pushed a new type of writing about music — enthusiastic about pop, distrustful of canons, welcoming to people who didn't fit the stodgy-guy rock-writer mold — to the front of the conversation.
In 2013 I launched Maura Magazine, a journal of cultural criticism. Contributors include Roxane Gay, Michaelangelo Matos, Zachary Lipez, Jaya Saxena, and Alex Pareene.
I have 22,000-plus Twitter followers and 216,000 Tumblr followers, and I am on Wikipedia.
