Fox Literary is a boutique agency which represents commercial and literary fiction, along with select works of nonfiction that have broad commercial appeal.
Isabel is actively looking to build her list in fantasy & science fiction, adult literary fiction, horror, historical fiction, contemporary commercial fiction, and upper-level young adult literature. She is looking for intelligent, ambitious writing, character-driven storytelling, and welcomes speculative elements across all genres. She is also interested in creative nonfiction and select nonfiction.
She is particularly seeking:
- Complex, lush, court-intrigue fantasy: think PRIORY OF THE ORANGE TREE or anything influenced by KUSHIEL'S DART
- Character-driven horror with a strong social perspective and equally strong sense of style: think A CERTAIN HUNGER, TELL ME I'M WORTHLESS, or the films distributed by A24 (still looking for the perfect MIDSOMMAR comp!)
- SF that leans toward space fantasy: think the LOCKED TOMB series or THE STARS UNDYING
- Literary fiction with strong perspective, clear voice, and a sense of wit: think THE IDIOT, LUSTER, or HAPPY HOUR
- Lighthearted, glamorous, escapist commercial fiction that takes its characters seriously: think YOU MADE A FOOL OF DEATH WITH YOUR BEAUTY or THE VIEW WAS EXHAUSTING
- Historical fiction in the vein of Hilary Mantel or Sarah Dunant
- Creative nonfiction - particularly drawn to decolonial travel writing, thoughtful and diverse food writing, and incisive cultural perspectives on luxury and beauty that unpack how and what we're taught to want.
She appreciates fresh takes on familiar archetypes, new perspectives on well-known myths and fairytales, and is actively seeking work from historically underrepresented and marginalized perspectives.

Isabel began her work in publishing as a literary intern with Fox Literary in 2012, while studying the history of stories and storytelling at New York University. She returns after completing a literary master’s of science at the University of Edinburgh. Following several years of freelance writing and media critique (including work highlighted in Slate and Vox), in addition to brand consultation in the luxury travel and lifestyle sector, she is happy to return to her first and lifelong love: developing new voices and building the scaffolding of enduring literary careers.
