I am a best-selling children’s book author (9 times on the NY Times Bestseller list, including twice at #1), Editorial Director of the Julie Andrews Collection publishing program and a private consulting editor. I have shepherded hundreds of books by other authors through the publication process. Because I am an author as well as an editor, I am in a unique position to understand the challenges and nuances of creating a successful children’s book.
Although most of my work is in the realm of children's publishing, my skills are not limited to children's books. I am also a published poet, have curated two poetry anthologies, co-written two memoirs and am the author of a non-fiction book for parents and educators. I am also a professor of children's literature at Stony Brook University, where I head up the annual Children's Lit Conference, and a co-Founder of the annual Picture Book Summit online. My editing skills and interests are broad, and my experience is wide ranging. I look forward to supporting you in making your work the best it can be.
