Brooke Carey

I am a freelance writer, editor, and book collaborator with more than 14 years of industry experience. I began my editorial career at Portfolio, Sentinel, and Current. After being promoted to editor, I moved to Gotham and then Avery, where I worked until launching my freelance editorial business in May 2016.

I specialize in non-fiction books for adults in the categories of self-help, business, pop culture, lifestyle, psychology, and memoir. I've edited books on how to start and run a business, the Bernie Madoff scandal, the science behind human creation, the history of the suburbs, psychopaths, time management, online dating, the marketing lessons of Lady Gaga, artisan farming, skincare, and altruism, among many other subjects.

I have edited numerous award-winning and bestselling books across a wide span of non-fiction genres. As a freelancer, I continue to help authors bring their ideas to life, collaborating with them closely to make their books and proposals as smart, sophisticated, and sharp as possible.

Currently, I offer editing, co-writing, consulting, and self-publishing services for a range of non-fiction projects--from books to blog posts. If you are interested in working with me, please check out my website www.brookecarey.com.
