WHAT GOES UP by Wen Baragrey

Art. Patience. Discipline.

My focus as an agent is strategizing profitable long-term careers for my authors. I want my clients to love the books they write and make money writing them. Crafting that kind of balance between artistic and commercial success takes strategy, teamwork and, as stated above, "Art. Patience. Discipline."

In terms of personality, I tend to be chatty with clients. In my experience, setting clear expectations and explaining publishing processes helps authors focus on their writing. So, I communicate regularly and keep my client list small enough to support each author effectively.

I represent authors who write middle grade novels (all sub-genres), young adult novels (all sub-genres), romance novels (all sub-genres) and science fiction/fantasy novels for the adult market. Please no picture books, memoir, commercial fiction, mystery or women's fiction. A book must be 100% complete and never previously published in order to query but as long as it meets these requirements, bring it on! I read all queries myself and am actively acquiring. My query email address is and my turn around time is 5-14 days.

I try to answer professional questions as time allows on twitter @SaraMegibow
