This writer is looking for an agent.
((Peter's agent for 10 years, Margaret Kennedy - The Margaret Kennedy Agency, Australia - has retired.))
Peter Taylor is a multi-published author of fiction and non-fiction for children of all ages, and paper-crafts books for adults...and a speaker and workshop presenter. His aim is to encourage people of all ages to read, write, and be creative.
Peter self-illustrates his how-to books and other non-fiction works by providing artwork and photography. It's just possible he will offer to use traditional media to illustrate one or two of his picture book texts. Over the years, he has been the Coordinator of SCBWI Queensland Australia (prior to the role's ARA status), Editor of Children's Book Council of Australia magazines, and taken on other committee roles.
As a qualified ecologist and former high school science and art teacher, museum curator, and nature reserve manager, Peter infuses many of his books and stories with STEM content, and is delighted to write on topics in 'work for hire' contracts. While school teaching, he transformed and simplified texts so they were more easily understood by those who had English as a second language. He was born and raised in England and still thinks of himself as English, but currently lives in Brisbane, Australia.
Peter also has a platform as a calligrapher and can handwrite text, wording for covers and headings, and create decorative borders in medieval styles.

'Delivery on time' is always given paramount importance. Peter has enjoyed working with editors, art directors, and designers from traditional publishers, and with a book packager.
If checking for his Google footprint, please search using 'Peter Taylor author of children's and calligraphy books' - there are other Peter Taylors who write business books or have won the Pulitzer Prize.

THE SKETCHBOOK - Upper Middle Grade contemporary novel with STEM and significant historical non-fiction content...
For thirteen-year-old Emma, whose taxidermy and clock repairing hobbies are deemed weird, settling into a new Australian school sucks. When her English great-great-uncle visits, he helps by sharing his sketchbook of his travels, hardships, and survival on the Burma Railway and in Japan. Surprisingly, his tales also feature empathy shared between captors and captured, with a Japanese guard risking his life to be kind. From these, Emma gains resilience and an understanding of true friendship, both of which are needed when she discovers the class bully's sad secret, but sympathy could lead to being ostracized by those she thinks are becoming buddies.
A BOOK OF SMALL THINGS – Stamps, Currency and Look-alikes...
Middle Grade+ self-illustrated non-fiction compendium of fascinating objects children's grandparents and earlier ancestors may have used. Proposal available. Series potential, or a wider ranging 'Big book of Small things'.
