* Arbeiderspers (The Netherlands) has acquired Dutch rights of LA HORA AZUL (The Blue Hour) by Alonso Cueto published by Anagrama and winner of 2005 Herralde Prize for Novel. Set in the late 90s Peru, this is a journey towards the hidden side of families and societies, a novel about the exploration of the forbidden chapters of a man’s family. The story, dramatic and moving, is told with the gripping style and rhythm of a detective story. Besides, Berlin Verlag will publish it in Germany, Mercado de Letras in Portugal, Editori Riuniti in Italy, Editora Objetiva in Brazil, Éditons Michalon in France and China People’s Literature Publishing in Mainland China.
* Juan Manuel de Prada’s EL SÉPTIMO VELO (The Seventh Veil) winner of this year’s Biblioteca Breve Award (Seix-Barral), will be translated into French by Seuil, into Italian by Longanesi and into Romanian by RAO.
* Translation rights of MIZÉ, by young Portuguese narrator Ricardo Adolfo, have been acquired by Berlin Verlag (Germany) in a pre-empt, and by Suma – Santillana Group (Spain).
