Requirements:
Kensington Publishing Corp. is seeking a Production Editor to join the Production Department. This position handles the Production of fiction and non-fiction titles from manuscript to bound book and other format conversions.

Responsibilities include:
* Hire and supervise freelance copyeditors and proofreaders, indexers, text designers, and insert designers.
* Prepare electronic manuscripts for freelance copyeditors and oversee all passes: copyedited manuscript to editor/author, preparation of manuscript and comp order for the compositor, pages to author and proofreader (and indexer), collating author and proofreader corrections to be sent back to compositor.
* Check revisions/ final pass after the corrections are made. Check digital proofs that are posted by the printer.
* Handle approximately 10 titles per month.
* Communicate with editorial, authors, production, art, and marketing departments and maintain schedules so that all final dates are met.
* Post ARC files to printer.
* Advise editors of cover and jacket copy revisions, and give final check of jackets and covers before they are sent to the printer

Requirements:
* This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as Production Editor (preferable with a trade publisher).
* The candidate should also possess excellent copyediting and proofreading skills with ability to vet and review the work of freelancers..
* You need to be able meet deadlines in a fast paced, multi-project environment. The position also requires a person who is well-organized, has good communication skills, and can successfully work independently.

In-house or hybrid position.
