The Senior Publicist will create and implement publicity efforts spanning the entire campaign process for the Hachette Nashville imprint. FaithWords is our Christian publishing imprint focusing on religious books of all denominations of Christianity. Its titles deal exclusively with Christian religious ideas. Center Street is a fiction and non-fiction imprint whose titles uniformly provide a positive, uplifting reading experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for implementing original and compelling publicity plans for key titles each season through media campaigns, industry, and author events
Create press releases, pitch letters, promotional materials and media lists with a goal of securing national, regional, and local media in print, broadcast, and select online outlets
Orchestrate and oversee tours, pre-pub buzz tours, media lunches, and local author appearances
Work with editorial, sales and online marketing to create a cohesive publicity effort for each title
Strengthen and develop media and bookstore contacts in addition to maintaining relationships with authors
Help plan and execute industry events such as BEA
Serve as the in-house advocate for Center Street imprints and promote their authors and titles within the organization
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelorâs Degree
3-5 years of publicity experience with extensive media contacts or the ability to develop such contacts
Effective organizational and project management skills and proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
Effective communication skills (oral & written) for interactions with media, authors, and in-house constituencies.
Self-motivated, hands-on, creative individual with strong initiative and judgment
Ability to work well independently as well as in collaborative or team environments
A leader who possesses experience and a style that will create trust and confidence

The compensation range for this position is $60,000-$65,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location â talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
