Bloomsbury|ABC-CLIO is looking for a customer-focused professional to join our K-12 digital sales team. We are seeking a candidate who resides in the U.S. East Coast.
We work with secondary schools, librarians, and districts to support their 6-12 curriculum with quality content and award-winning products.
The Educational Sales Specialist (ESS) position is responsible for growing our customer base within a defined territory within the continental US, primarily the east coast. The ESS works closely with district and school leaders in their territory, helping them partner with Bloomsbury|ABC-CLIO to impact student learning.
Our sales team includes career sales professionals and talented former educators who have successfully transitioned to education sales. Librarians, teachers, district supervisors, and administrators with sales experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities Include:
- Meeting/Exceeding aggressive sales targets for new business development
- Prospecting – Open new business opportunities through direct contact with districts and schools
- Needs Assessment – Identify customers’ needs and match them to Bloomsbury|ABC-CLIO products
- Product Presentations & Proposals – Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals
- Reporting – Track sales activity and opportunities, including maintaining accurate pipeline reports.
- Travel – Most account activity can be done virtually. However, the ESS should have flexibility to travel for customer meetings and conferences, up to 10%.
- Market & Product Knowledge – Develop and maintain a strong understanding of educational needs and trends and how Bloomsbury|ABC-CLIO and its competitors are positioned in the market.
