Position Summary
As our Senior Book Marketing Manager, you will act as the Associate Directors proxy on the US Book Marketing team by helping to oversee and drive the achievement of the overall physical and digital book marketing function including online digital marketing, and trade book initiatives. The Sr. Book Marketing Manager will create and execute direct marketing strategies for key product launches in collaboration with partners/authors.

Responsibilities and Expertise
- Works in complete collaboration with and reports directly to the Associate Director in overseeing high-level Book Marketing campaigns and helps coordinate the smooth running of the US Book Marketing team.
- Works closely with editorial and online marketing teams to create, communicate, and implement results-oriented book launch campaigns for all frontlist and backlist products.
- Collaborates directly with publishers, authors, and agents to communicate and execute marketing plans.
- Clearly identifies the potential target audiences for a publication and continually refines targeting and messaging to maximize product sales in trade and D2C channels.
- Develops campaign launch strategies and manage staff to execute campaign/product launch activities.
- Develops strategy for social platforms with cross-functional teams and authors.
- Flexibly manages book promotion plans and budgets that grow and change over time.
- Collaborates with authors to maximize campaign reach in various channels, helping to build author brands and platforms.
- Leverages resources and analytics for more effective targeting and messaging.
- Partner Management: supports and manages relationships with authors; liaises with author and team to execute book marketing initiatives.
- Creative Marketing & Content Development: leads with a creative mindset, from researching and reporting new strategies to the Associate Director while integrating unique opportunities into the marketing campaign to maximize exposure.
- Reporting and Analytics: reports back to key stakeholders on campaign results; utilizes analytics data to evaluate campaigns; evaluates internal and competitive digital campaign performances to determine each promotion's success and areas of opportunity/growth.
- Manages content production for all campaign channels such as websites, email, and social channels including but not limited to:
- Expanding and overseeing promotion and D2C communication
- Strategically directing social media campaigns
- Optimizing Amazon opportunities, brand promotion, SEO, and A+ Pages
- Co-collaborating and supporting website strategies for D2C sales opportunities.
- Oversee and implement metadata/SEO opportunities. (Amazon)
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Marketing Ops/Email, Customer Support, Ecommerce/Web, Course Development, and Membership teams to ensure cross-coordination of campaign launches.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with the ability to adjust communications style according to colleague/author needs.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to strategize, create, implement, and oversee marketing campaigns.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of digital/online marketing, sales funnels, incentives, and social media channels.
- Extensive email database marketing knowledge and growth tactics.
- Technological proficiency using a personal computer, Microsoft Excel, Word, internet, and project tracking software, project management software.
- Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing tactics.

Education and/or Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working in Digital Marketing including driving strategy with proven results through email marketing and social media.
- Experience in book publishing is desirable but not essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
