Scholastic’s middle grade and young adult publishing list is incredibly strong, and we are looking for a creative, smart, and motivated Marketing Assistant to work with the Senior Marketing Director and 2 Marketing Managers to create and execute plans that promote our books to their best advantage!


Assist the Middle Grade and Young Adult marketing team: senior marketing director and two marketing managers

Work closely with team to implement social media campaigns for I read YA and Scholastic, including but not limited to: brainstorming, copy writing, creating assets, posting, etc.

Manage all marketing mailings including social media giveaways, contests, and special bookstore mailings

Create sell-in marketing materials

Maintain and coordinate Trade team PopJam account

Maintain tracking grids recapping stats from marketing and advertising campaigns

Coordinate and manage the monthly Indie Newsletter

Take notes in key marketing meetings with sales and editorial

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

1-2 years of marketing experience preferred

College degree

Experience in publishing field and/or marketing a plus

Experience developing social media and digital content
Knowledge of various computer systems: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Proactive and accountable

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Detail oriented

Good, consistent follow-through
