Ann Rittenberg Literary Agency is hiring an experienced publishing professional on a part time/consultant basis to run the foreign/subsidiary rights and contracts operations of the agency.

The applicant will:
Review and negotiate contracts with publishers
Draft agreements of all kinds, including permissions, performance agreements, and film/tv options
Oversee the execution process for all contracts/agreements
Preside over agency database of contracts, royalty records, and client info
Work with co-agents to sell our titles abroad
Attend book fairs and other industry events
Sell subsidiary rights to our clients’ books domestically
Maintain our rights list

The applicant should:
Have several years’ experience in New York book publishing
Be familiar with all sorts of publishing agreements, with up-to-date knowledge of intellectual property and rights issues
Communicate with clarity, firmness, and charm
Manage competing priorities comfortably
Work from our spacious Lower Manhattan office
