Entrepreneur Books seeks a full-time Publicity and Marketing Associate to join the book division of Entrepreneur Media. The Publicity and Marketing Associate will be responsible for all publicity and marketing efforts for 10-15 titles per year in the small business/entrepreneurship/general success category for adults and kids in the near future. The position will also serve as the main point of publicity and marketing connection for the books division with other Entrepreneur departments, our distribution and licensing partners, and external media and partners. This is a fully remote position, and we will consider candidates located in the U.S.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who can take the ball and run with it in close collaboration with a dedicated team. You come with your own media contacts but are interested in expanding those. You know the publicity and marketing protocols within the book publishing industry and can execute on those. You are someone who likes to think outside of the box, and who and wants to push the envelope with new, creative, and innovative ideas for reaching readers, reviewers, and the media to elevate brand and title awareness, and increase visibility and sales. You will be involved in the re-imagining and re-launching of our whole publishing program and the executing of our new list, and you are excited about that. What you will do
• Conceive, develop, schedule, and execute multi-faceted publicity and marketing campaigns for all titles that attract the media, readers, and reviewers.
• Write compelling press releases, pitches, and other promotional materials relating to each book’s campaign, including back cover text.
• Pitch and secure interviews, features, and review coverage and initiatives with national and local trade and consumer media and review venues, including broadcast, print, online blogs and sites, and all other relevant venues.
• Cultivate and maintain close relationships with trade and consumer media including TV/radio producers, print and digital publications, book reviewers, booksellers, and event coordinators. Research and initiate relationships with new media partners to grow media contacts and overall brand and title awareness.
• Coordinate and supply ARC’s and pre-publication copies to relevant reviewers and long lead media. Fulfil requests for all media and review copies prior to, on, and after publication date. Secure pre-publication endorsements from prominent professionals for use online, on book jackets, and in marketing materials.
• Work closely with internal company marketing team to create and implement content on internal sites, and participate in helping to develop data driven digital and social media influencer strategies that generate virality, increase follower engagement, and drive sales.
• Collaborate closely with authors to plan and execute appearances, both virtual and in-person, including book tours and readings, local appearances, school visits, and special events. Help authors drive strategy and maximize campaign effectiveness, helping to create a roadmap for authors to expand their own platforms to promote their book(s) in new and exciting ways. Work with authors contacts to generate new opportunities for partnerships, promotion and sales.
• Identify opportunities for new tools, platforms, partners, outlets, best practices, marketing trends, etc.
• Participate in the planning and preparation for all seasonal sales meetings.
• Communicate detailed campaign updates to our internal team, and distribution and sales partners on current media coverage, hits, opportunities, and future placements.
• Stay up to date on both general publishing industry and specific subject trends, events, and relevant organizations that would be beneficial for us to be a part of. Attend festivals and conventions as relevant.

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a publicity and marketing role in book publishing, preferably in nonfiction
• Strong existing relationships with relevant media outlets and reviewers, including in trade publishing market
• Demonstrated success in media placements and reviews in both consumer and trade publications
• Experience with creating press releases, writing promotional materials, and maintaining outreach schedules
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate with the media, authors, subject-matter experts, and key influencers.
• Ability to work closely with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally
• Able to juggle and keep up to date with multiple initiatives on several titles at different stages
• Knowledge of and interest in entrepreneurship, and the business book market preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required
