Requirements:
The Senior Publicist will work closely under the company's CEO to create and independently implement media efforts for authors of Lucinda Literary and other literary firms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implementing original and compelling publicity plans for key titles each season through media campaigns and author events
Creating press releases, pitch letters and media lists with a goal of securing national and regional coverage in print, broadcast, and online outlets
Strengthening and developing media and event relationships for the agency

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

2+ years’ experience working in a professional public relations or media environment
Established relationships, or the ability to develop relationships, with media contacts particularly in business/lifestyle areas and practical nonfiction
Experience with handling media outreach for books and authors
Effective communication skills (oral & written) for interactions with media and authors
Relentless work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
An understanding of books and authors and media opportunities in this space
Ability to work well independently as well as in collaborative team environments
Self-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented
Effective organizational and project management skills
A sense of humor - we enjoy laughing a lot!
