An exciting new opportunity to develop original audio content and coordinate all aspects of the program. Along with being a part of our overall acquisition team, you would manage our program to develop audio products from graphic novels and adaptations, Macmillan Audio has a thriving program with foreign publishers to share recordings, and the successful candidate will manage this program and acquire and license recordings to our partner publishers.

What you'll do:

- Survey the marketplace for successful original audio content on an ongoing basis – provide analysis and feedback to editorial group/management
- Manage the acquisition and licensing of rights for our audio originals and graphic novels programs. Work with editors and negotiate with agents to acquire product.
- Evaluate resources needed for each original audio project. Estimate costs and potential sales for each project. Run p&ls. Manage all elements of the acquisition
- Manage all elements of the selection and production of our Graphic novel program. Develop cost estimates and resources required. Hire script writers and work with the author and book editor on adaptation and coordinate with producer on casting, music, sound effects, etc.
- Manage our international program to acquire and license master recordings. Make deals and oversee all aspects of our co-productions. Prepare agreements, manage scheduling, casting, file transfers, and quality control. Solicit bonus material from foreign partners and provide to marketing.

What you'll bring:

- Keen insight into what is needed for successful acquisitions. Out of the box thinker.
- Collaborative, organized, excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task.
- Strong appreciation for content that works in the audio format and ability to recognize acceptable sound quality
- Experience with agents and editors preferred

Ideal Experience/Education:

- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- Audio, podcast, editorial, and/or foreign rights preferred
- College Degree
