Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Monthly sales upload in Acumen
• Manage all aspects of Accounts Receivable, from invoice entry to collection
• Monthly input of cash receipts in Acumen Book
• Monthly reconciliation of A/R and Petty Cash
• Inventory management in Acumen Book
• Enter all royalty contracts in Acumen book
• Create royalty statements and review with Director of Finance, and Executive Director
• Work with Development department to provide reports on restricted and unrestricted contributed income
• Prepare account reconciliations for auditors, and respond to their queries
• Respond to queries from authors regarding their statement and royalty payments
• Complete all relevant accounting tasks required for the monthly close in a timely manner
• Work collaboratively with editorial, publicity, marketing, production, contracts, and rights departments to process requests in timely fashion and provide financial information as needed.
Job Requirements:
• B.S. in Accounting or Business
• 5+ years in accounting and/or finance
• Prior experience in Publishing and Acumen Book accounting system preferable
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
• Must have excellent references and be able to communicate effectively.

Successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter, able to take initiative, work autonomously with great accuracy, pitch in as needed, and provide all-around support and back-up to Finance Director in a busy, thriving not-for-profit setting.
