Position Profile

Supporting the Assistant Marketing Manager and Marketing Director, the Marketing Associate helps develop and implement campaigns that drive consumer awareness of select fiction and nonfiction titles each season. Categories include debut fiction, mysteries, history, current events, health, and popular science. Additionally, the Associate is responsible for all administrative tasks that help support the marketing team. This position requires organization, attention to detail, creativity, and strong multi-tasking skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manages marketing campaigns for select fiction and nonfiction titles
• Assists in managing Bloomsbury’s social media outlets, including executing plans, posting content, running giveaways, and contributing creative ideas
• Preparing materials for all major meetings with the Macmillan sales team
• Writes copy for marketing materials such as sellsheets, flyers, postcards, advertisements, etc.
• Writes pitch letters to booksellers for various books each season and mail them out in a timely manner.
• Admin duties may include: coding invoices, coordinating mailings, scheduling meetings, creating and distributing weekly reports.


The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 to 3 years of experience
• Experience with social media for a company (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Goodreads.)
• Proficiency in all MS Office products
• Familiarity with InDesign or Photoshop a plus
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Able to work accurately with detailed information
• Flexible, and able to adjust course as the situation changes
• Professional demeanor


Please note that, due to COVID-19, this position will be working from home until further notice. Candidates must reside in NY, NJ, CT , or PA and be able to commute to Bloomsbury USA’s New York City office full-time when the office re-opens. Flex time available.
