Summary

As a National Account Manager, you will manage Callisto Media’s relationship with Readerlink and major retailers they service such as Target, Wal-Mart, and the clubs. This position will require face-to-face interaction with the account in Illinois three to four times per year when it is safe to do so, as well as regular meetings in San Diego and Bentonville. Additionally, you will manage daily sales tracking, inventory analysis, and overall customer service to the accounts. You will represent Callisto Media’s best interest at the account and be a representative of Readerlink internally in all meetings. You will have daily contact with customers including scheduling meetings, managing inventory, and providing all assets both physical and digital as the account requires. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented and is a proactive, detail-oriented, self-starter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage all frontlist sales into Readerlink.
- Pitch and secure backlist opportunities according to promotional themes at the accounts.
- Prepare all materials for presentations and sales calls.
- Deliver monthly or seasonal presentations and sales calls to key buyers.
- Process orders and provide accounts with tracking and logistic details.
- Negotiate, book, and analyze all co-op opportunities including projections, profitability, and inventory levels.
- Provide impeccable customer service and follow up as the product managers require.
- Analyze sell-through and POS revenue and profitability.
- Forecast monthly financial goals by account.
- Track and meet seasonal financial targets in both revenue and returns.
- Project and communicate inventory needs for current and forthcoming opportunities.
- Facilitate logistical communication between customers and Callisto Media.
- Provide Trade Sales with regular updates for cohesive planning of inventory and adjacent opportunities.
- Travel to account meetings three to four times per year when safe to do so.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in related field (business, advertising, communications, etc)
- 1+ years Readerlink management OR 5+ years sales experience, preferably in publishing, or experience selling Consumer Products to any of the following: Barnes & Noble, Books a Million, Target, Wal-Mart, Bookazine, Readerlink, Baker & Taylor, Ingram
- Keen customer service and diplomatic abilities
- Proven forecasting and planning capabilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong systems and process orientation
- Meticulous attention to detail and deadlines
- Proactive, energetic, efficient, and self-directed with the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Team player with a proven ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
- Strong inner drive to build, improve, and own cross-departmental processes
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, as well as Google Drive and related systems
- Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, and InDesign experience a plus
- Experience with Edelweiss, ReaderLink Publisher Portal, Ipage, AWBC Publisher Portal, Pub Alley, CataList, NPD Decision Key, and other book publishing retail & wholesale systems and databases a plus.
