Requirements:
Entrepreneur Press seeks a full-time Editorial Director to lead the book division of Entrepreneur Media. The Editorial Director will be responsible for acquiring, developing, and publishing 16-20 titles per year in the small business/entrepreneurship category for our Entrepreneur Press and Entrepreneur Kids imprints, as well as serving as main point of contact for the press with other Entrepreneur teams, distribution partners, licensing partners, and authors.

Duties include:
• Acquire a frontlist of 16-20 consumer trade nonfiction titles in adult and juvenile business nonfiction while managing a robust backlist.
• Conduct financial and competitive analysis to achieve profit margins, assess sales and marketing viability of potential titles, and create P&L statements based on editorial needs and budget.
• Successfully negotiate author contracts including advances, royalty rates, and licensing.
• Create, coordinate, and manage book metadata.
• Work cross-functionally with other company teams (marketing, social, online editorial, and business development) to create and market book content appropriate for the Entrepreneur audience.
• Represent the publisher in all interactions with distribution partners and coordinate with national and international sales teams.
• Oversee the editorial process and manage a team of authors, editors, and production professionals to shepherd books from acquisition to publication.
• Manage relationships with vendors, freelancers, agents, and subsidiary/foreign rights partners as needed.

What we are looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an editorial role in nonfiction publishing.
• Demonstrated success in publishing business books for the consumer trade market.
• Experience with creating and managing title metadata.
• Strong knowledge of the business book market.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate with subject-matter experts and key stakeholders.
• Ability to develop manuscripts and make decisions on the content and overall direction of a book prior to publication.
• Existing relationships with agents and freelance editors.
• Ability to work closely with authors to develop, refine, and finalize manuscripts, making sure that projects meet the standards of the Entrepreneur brand.
• Strong contract negotiation skills.

This is a fully remote position, and we will consider candidates located in the U.S.
