Requirements:
Artisan Books is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join its team. This person will manage all aspects of manufacturing related to the physical details of new titles which includes books, puzzles and stationary items.  (Note: This is not an editorial or production editorial position.)
 
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
• Obtaining competitive manufacturing pricing
• Monitoring schedules
• Checking color proofs with designers and authors/photographers
• Processing invoices
• Resolving quality issues as needed
• Must be able to work with domestic and offshore vendors in varied book formats and be able to handle special projects as they arise
 
Qualifications:
 
• A minimum of three years of experience in 4/c trade book production is required
• Must have a solid understanding of all stages of book manufacturing including estimating, scheduling, pre-press, color correcting, paper, printing, binding and freight forwarding
• Candidate must be a highly organized self-starter who is flexible and able to prioritize a busy workload
• Proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe InDesign
• Bachelor’s Degree
