Little Bee Books is looking for a temporary International Rights Manager for all children’s imprints including Little Bee Books, BuzzPop, and Yellow Jacket. We are a children’s book publisher dedicated to making high-quality, creative, and fun books for busy little bees ages 0 through 16.

Our International Rights Manager will be an experienced, results-driven, and successful sales professional who will provide the leadership and direction for our international rights and co-edition sales, as well as pieces of our export business. This will be achieved through developing, leading, and delivering on our sales goals for international rights and co-editions and forging a path forward in this market.

The position encompasses direct selling and channel management responsibility for all markets excluding North America and some export markets including, but not limited to, Australia, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Eastern Europe, Russia, Latin America, China, Korea, and Japan, for children’s titles.

*This position is part-time, temporary, and remote and will start June 2021 for a minimum of 6 months.*

• Managing and executing on international rights and co-edition sales.
• Meeting or exceeding sales targets for international rights and co-edition sales.
• Providing weekly updates on revenue and sales forecasts by territory, communicating sales progress, pinpointing drivers for exceeding or missing budget, identifying new sales opportunities, and sharing relevant trends which impact business.
• Working closely with publishing team in order to have a thorough understanding of the current books and the forthcoming publishing program and to plan for appropriate sales materials and new book information for international customers.
• Working directly with production department on product pricing, shipping information, and production scheduling.
• Tracking and managing international royalty deals.
• Managing all aspects of rights sales, including but not limited to contracts, sales tracking and recording, sales solicitations, send outs, and follow up.
• Possible travel to accounts as needed for sales purposes, NYC office as needed, and potentially for international book fairs.

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college university preferred, or college course work and knowledge gained through equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ experience directly selling and managing translation rights and co-edition sales.
• A results-oriented focus, selling acumen, keen attention to detail, advanced organizational skills, rigorous follow up, and impeccable communication skills.
• Ability to track and manage many types of information and the ability to share it reliably and appropriately.
• Adaptable to gathering and organizing multiple inputs of information from many different people and places.
• A positive, can-do, service-oriented attitude.
