Pippin Properties, Inc. is seeking a Subsidiary Rights Associate/Manager, with 2–4 years experience, looking for the opportunity to make their mark licensing rights for and expanding the worldwide brand of our boutique literary agency. Our authors and illustrators include top creators in the children’s publishing world today, many who have become household names in their own right. As a highly motivated, fierce purveyor of our books, you will work to increase the footprint of every property we represent. You are an excellent oral and written communicator who loves developing and maintaining partnerships around the world. Taking initiative and being proactive in a fast-paced, changing environment, you will effectively organize priorities and streamline their execution while sustaining your strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with publishers to gather digital assets; handling submissions and negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts for audio, live stage, merchandising and permission deals.
- Preparing materials for and working hand-in-hand with the rights agency handling our foreign and translation rights.
- Representing the agency at the Bologna Book Fair and other fairs and conventions as the need arises (i.e., London, Frankfurt, live-stage conventions).
- Maintaining rights databases; assisting in creation of revenue reports.
- Tracking, requesting and following up on rights and out-of-print reversions.
- Acting as liaison for clients, for example, assisting in requesting 6166 tax forms, fielding requests for client interviews and work-related travel, etc.

Requirements:
- Passion for children's publishing as Pippin's titles range from picture books to middle-grade and YA, with occasional adult trade titles and a growing graphic novel list.
- Voracious reader with an appreciation for the highest quality literature.
- Meticulous devotion to detail and presentation.
- Ability to design graphically compelling presentation decks and submissions.
- Must be a team player with a sense of humor and be a creative problem-solver with the ability to self-motivate in a small office environment.
