The Wylie Agency is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join the contracts and business affairs team in its New York office.

The primary responsibilities of the role are reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements on behalf of the agency's clients, such as magazine article and contributor agreements, book publishing agreements, collaboration agreements, and literary rights option purchase agreements, along with other unique issues arising from the work of the creative authors and artists the agency represents.

Applicants should possess excellent communication, drafting, and writing skills as well as ability to problem solve in an efficient manner and the ability to complete high volumes of tasks and projects quickly with minimal supervision but in close communication within a small, collaborative team. The candidate should be highly organized with great attention to detail and the demonstrated ability to liaise with clients and to work effectively with colleagues in different capacities ; this position involves close work with clients and colleagues in New York and London, spanning the contracts team, agents, assistants, and the accounting team. The contracts team is an essential department within the agency, with responsibilities ranging from advising on high-level deal points and boilerplate negotiations to ensuring an efficient and effective contract administrative and document management process. A willingness to perform both large and small tasks is required.

The ideal applicant has familiarity with and enthusiasm for the authors we represent (please see This position offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful, interesting work and client interaction while maintaining a reasonable work-life balance. A J.D. is not required but would be viewed favorably. This is not an entry-level position and candidates should either have several years of experience working in business side of the entertainment or media industry, and/or bring familiarity with basic contract work and a strong desire to learn.

Applicants must be available to start full-time work on a remote basis immediately, and in New York on a date to be determined.
