We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our virtual “Editorial Matchmaking” team. The role’s duties include selling our editorial, writing, coaching and self-publishing services to potential clients, and managing the health of client accounts over the life of their projects.

Job Description
The Sales Associate will be responsible for:
● Scheduling, preparing for and taking initial calls (video and audio) with potential clients (12-20 sales calls per week, depending on season and flow of leads)
● Pitching and closing the sale on the right editorial, ghostwriting, coaching and self-publishing packages for each unique client
● Pairing new clients with collaborators (freelance writers, editors and coaches) from our extensive stable
● Launching projects and reviewing contracts
● Acting as the author’s point of contact with kn literary over the lifespan of the project
● Account management, including project check-ins, editorial review and some customer service duties
● Problem-solving, mediation and conflict resolution on projects as needed
● Attending weekly team meetings
● Invoicing kn literary promptly for sales commissions

Candidate Requirements
● Sales-oriented personality, including demonstrated ability for closing sales
● Familiarity with the book industry, ideally with both editorial and sales experience (e.g. previously worked at a literary agency or in editorial)
● A passion for connecting authors with the resources they need to get their book written and into print
● High-functioning, friendly, upbeat, detail-oriented and a fast learner
● Impeccable written communication skills
● Understanding of what makes for a salable and readable book, and what services a given author may need to get there (editing, ghostwriting, coaching, etc.)
● Ease with video, phone and written communication with authors
● Comfort with conflict resolution, including the willingness and ability to act as a mediator should issues arise between client and collaborator
● Sincere personal interest in and knowledge of the transformational nonfiction space
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Suite; ability to quickly learn and understand various online software programs
● Residency in the continental United States, reachable if needed M-F from 9-5pm MT
● Reliable high-speed internet; personal computer with high-quality webcam and audio functionality; smartphone; dedicated, professional-looking and well-lit home office (with a door that can be closed); Microsoft Office subscription
