Executive/Senior Director, Inventory

In this role, the Executive/Senior Director of Inventory oversees and is responsible for all aspects of inventory management and demand planning for all Adult PRH divisions—from initial publication through complete lifecycle of titles. This includes maintaining overall inventory levels to company targets of order fill rate, inventory turn and obsolescence rates. This person leads a department of 11 employees.

Specific responsibilities include:
Evaluate and adjust inventory policy and procedures in accordance with corporate targets

Review and assist staff with setting appropriate inventory levels by title
Works with staff to develop their inventory knowledge and understanding of the marketplace
Coordinates needs for capacity planning and identifies key titles for prioritization
Identifies system requirements that will meet the needs of the department on a go-forward basis and liaise with Inventory Operations and IT on development, implementation and training
Analyzes daily/weekly POS information from accounts to determine if inventory on hand is sufficient to meet the anticipated demand for replenishment
Provide operations support and act as liaison to Sales, Finance & Publishing
Spearheads seasonal remainder and overstock reviews with publishers and coordinates the appropriate disposition (scrap, remainder, donation, etc.), working in conjunction with warehouse staff
Acts as primary contact for warehouse management
Special projects as needed

The ideal candidate will possess:
10+ years relevant experience with demonstrated leadership experience
A deep understanding of the publishing landscape, supply chain and marketplace (including accounts, point of sale trends, etc)
Basic knowledge of book manufacturing
Excellent communication skills
