Summary: The Quarto Group is seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally well-organized Project Editor with a strong interest in publishing to provide support for the Chartwell and Crestline team. This position is based in New York City, but all staff members are currently working remotely. The role will focus primarily on assisting in editorial processes and aiding the team in concepting, developing and editing content for our customers. The Project Editor will write in this position, as needed including dynamic meta-data and aiding in preparing for sales presentations including but not limited to (PPT, gathering digital materials, mailings that might include some heavy lifting, etc.) In addition The Project Editor will assist in building budgets for projects, maintaining lists of active projects and ideas, and submitting and tracking payments for contracts and editorial services. The PE will manage the day-to-day editorial responsibilities of book projects on the production schedule for both Chartwell and Crestline imprints. The PE will attend weekly edit/production meetings. Do you have the following skills and qualifications?

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, receptive to feedback and learns quickly.
A strong communicator with the ability to balance a variety of responsibilities.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
One year of experience in book publishing, editorial, or a related field. Prior office experience or related internship preferred.
Exceptional writer. You will assist in the editing and drafting of editorial content, so strong writing skills are key.
Analytical skills. An ability to do math and feel comfortable in spreadsheets is required.
Presentation skills. You are great with PowerPoint, Excel and similar programs.
