The position is scheduled to start virtually on 8/3/20. The assistant will be expected to start in the New York office in January 2021 pending Covid-19 safety regulations.
We’re seeking a highly organized, personable individual with strong writing and reading skills to provide administrative and editorial support to four agents representing nonfiction and fiction authors. In addition to that, the candidate will share general office duties including answering phones, writing meeting minutes, greeting clients, routing contracts, event planning, updating databases, managing foreign tax forms, managing the agency website, filing, mailing, copying, and helping with basic client management. Duties also include reading submissions and queries, co-managing the agency’s unsolicited queries account, helping to prepare manuscripts and pitch letters, and targeting and assisting in pursuit of new clients.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated multitasker with excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. We are looking for someone who is a creative problem-solver, a self-starter, a quick learner, and effective at time management. Tech savviness and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and BAITS, as well as prior publishing or agenting experience are a plus but not a requirement.
