Freelance Serial Fiction Story Associate

Radish Fiction, a mobile app for serialized fiction, seeks freelance Story Associates for Radish Originals, our daily serialized stories produced in-house. Story Associates will be matched with a ghostwritten genre fiction project and be responsible for participating in a story room with a Headwriter and Storylead for one season (20 episodes, each 1,500 words) over the course of 2 days (7 hours each). This role will include helping to outline the seasonal story arc, develop episodic story arcs, plot individual character arcs and create strong episodic and seasonal cliffhangers. Story Associates may participate in one room every 3-4 weeks or up to two rooms per week, depending on availability. The compensation is $500 to $750 per story room depending on experience.

This is a freelance, project-based position with long-term potential. While Radish is based in New York City, we conduct story rooms either in-person or remotely via Zoom. You do not need to live in New York City to apply.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Strong story skills and a deep understanding of narrative structure
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others in a story room setting
- Ability to help foster a positive, highly-productive, fast-paced work environment
- An understanding of the serial fiction format and style
- Interest in romantic fiction and other genres with romantic elements (drama, fantasy, YA, thriller, etc)
- Detail-oriented and reliable
