Little Bee Books is looking for a resourceful, innovative, and imaginative Marketing Coordinator to join our team.

The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Marketing and Publicity Director to develop and implement marketing campaigns online, in trade, mass-market, and library channels with the goal of driving sales and creating name recognition for Little Bee Books, BuzzPop and Yellow Jacket imprints.

What You’ll Be Doing…

• Designing and executing frontlist and backlist marketing and advertising plans for Little Bee Books,
BuzzPop, and Yellow Jacket with the goal of increasing exposure, creating title/author awareness, and
driving sales
• Managing the creation of all related marketing materials including writing copy, coordinating with design and
production, and distributing finished materials
• Managing the biannual International Rights Guide catalog
• Developing and delivering campaign presentations to sales and editorial
• Creating and presenting analytic recaps for campaigns
• Working closely with authors/illustrators to maximize campaign effectiveness
• Organizing, pitching authors, advertising our booth presence, and merchandising our books at conferences,
including but not limited to:
Texas Library Association, American Library Association, Children’s Institute, Book Expo, London Book Fair,
Bologna Book Fair, Frankfurt Book Fair, etc.
• Planning and participating in all Children’s Book Buzzes through AAP and other organizations
• Planning and executing state and national award campaigns through ALA and other state library and
educational organizations
• Submitting titles for state awards (i.e. Texas Bluebonnet, etc.) and national awards (i.e. Newbery, Printz,
Caldecott, etc).
• Growing contact list of teachers, principals, administrators, and professors of education
• Developing new and creative ways of working with teachers and librarians in person and via social media

What You’ll Bring to the Table…

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong personal interest in children’s literature
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively
• Excellent organizational skills, reading comprehension, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and
attention to detail
• Excellent people skills, effective at interacting with internal and external clients and vendors
• Willingness to go above and beyond the job description and pitch in wherever necessary to get the job
