William Morrow is looking for a social-media savvy Associate Director, Marketing to oversee the strategy, execution, voice, design and analytics for the social accounts for all Morrow imprints and platforms including Morrow, Dey Street, Avon romance, Harper Voyager, Book Club Girl and Custom House. This role will liaise and act as an expert for authors with heavy-social media preorder/on-sale campaigns and work with our digital sales teams to execute D2C campaigns across front and backlist properties. The ideal candidate will have experience marketing to consumers using a mix of digital and traditional channels, can write about books in an accessible way, and is always on the lookout for new ways to approach marketing across platforms.

Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and execute social media content and strategy across William Morrow channels, with an eye towards developing consistent brand voices and identity.
Maintain a social media content schedule for the group's imprints and platforms, shifting content as needed to respond to sales and media opportunities while prioritizing relationships with key stakeholders in-house (marketing, editorial, and publicity) and externally (authors and agents).
Lead social media strategy and content development in collaboration with marketing across all major and emerging social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others. Work directly with social media platforms to identify how to best market our books using their new programs.
Apply knowledge of analytics, digital media channels, consumer trends and business needs to identify and implement new ways of connecting with and engaging readers.
Significantly grow social media accounts to engage fans, create unique assets, implement D2C campaigns, raise awareness for social media trends and products, and lead the way for our accounts.
Develop fan-centric acquisition and engagement campaigns across social, email, digital and mobile marketing platforms. Know, anticipate, and be proactive about trends, relevant news, and discovery.
Oversee all Bookstagram outreach and advise Marketing and Publicity on influencer campaigns.
Develop relationships with and proactively pitch to a strategic list of Bookstagrammers starting at galley stage and following through to publication.
Create databases of influential Bookstagrammers.
Field galley/finished books and organize into streamlined mailings.
Liaise with backlist Marketing Manager to promote key titles based on trends, holiday, and other significant milestones.
Test and evaluate analytics, new social and content strategies, tactics, and partnerships to drive sales; measure ROI on these strategies. Advise on all content and giveaways across accounts.
Provide regular updates to the business on analytics, strategy, consumer insights, goals & campaign results, and trends to the marketing team on a quarterly basis
Work with the Morrow marketing team on a seasonal basis identifying authors with social growth opportunities

Qualifications:
A minimum of 6 years in online media/publishing or marketing creating consumer centric social media, video, and content marketing assets
Expert knowledge and use of social media platforms and tools
Deep understanding of how content resonates on different types of social/digital platforms, internet best practices, copywriting and editorial style guides
Ability to pull insights from large datasets and simplify them into actionable insights
Initiative and drive to develop, own, and plan projects which push our brands forward and futureproof our consumer marketing strategy
Interest and ability to keep pace with CRM, Social Media, Digital Media industry trends and developments and communicate key insights to various stakeholders
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail
Ability to work cross-functionally across the division and within the company and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
A positive, can-do attitude
Must be an avid reader with a passion for book publishing
MS Office Suite required, Adobe Creative Suite, Video development and Photoshop skills a plus
