Diversion Books is looking for a full-time Marketing and Publicity Assistant to join our growing team! The assistant will report directly to the Marketing and Publicity Manager, and will have a chance to gain valuable experience in all aspects of direct-to-consumer marketing, media outreach, events management, and sales channel coordination to get a 360-view of all aspects of book promotion.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

- Assist in direct-to-consumer marketing including helping to run PPC ads on Facebook and Amazon, management of company social media accounts, and deploying the monthly newsletter
- Assist in publicity outreach, including mailing galleys and finished books to contacts, tracking hits, and maintaining updated contacts
- Metadata management on the company website and retailer pages
- Manage the master advertising schedule and route creative as necessary
- Assist in budget management, including invoice and spend tracking
- Track production workflow to ensure deadlines for mailings are met
- Cultivate consumer reviews by managing VINE and Goodreads giveaways, Edelweiss DRC requests, and reaching out to bookstagrammers and other influencers
- Assorted administrative and office management duties as-needed, including signing for packages and greeting office visitors


- Minimum six months of office experience or equivalent internship experience
- Proficiency in GSuite and MSOffice
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop and HTML a plus
- Strong interest in commercial non-fiction, including books about sports, history, true crime, music, politics, and science
