Requirements:
The Experiment, a dynamic, +10-year-old independent nonfiction publisher based in New York, seeks a full-time Sales and Marketing Coordinator, reporting to our executive director of marketing, publicity, and sales. Responsibilities include:

• Monitor sales and inventory of our +220 title list (with an additional 40-50 new titles published each year)
• Help prepare materials for our twice-annual series of sales meetings
• Analyze order and sales data and, working with the publisher, prepare P&Ls to inform print and reprint quantities
• Work with key international distribution partners to ensure appropriate inventory levels of all titles sold in distributed markets, and provide distributors with product selling information on new titles

Additionally, we seek a candidate who has:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to multi-task
• An aptitude and interest in learning (and mastering) a variety of software programs

About Our
Company:
The Experiment, operated by its founder-proprietors, has been publishing books since September 2009.

The Experiment publishes a wide range of practical and narrative nonfiction, including books on popular science and nature, creativity and puzzles, food and cooking (with most of our books in these areas having a healthful focus), biography and some history (including prehistory), health and wellness, psychology and personal development, parenting, relationships, and sexuality. In 2018 we also began selectively to publish children's books.

We have an active backlist of more than 300 titles, including four New York Times bestsellers, one of which, Forks Over Knives: The Plant-Based Way to Health, was a #1 New York Times bestseller. Whether narrative or prescriptive, we look for books that offer readers insight and/or guidance in ways that are fresh, singular, and necessary.

Our books have been sold and distributed in the US by Workman Publishing Company since 2010.

At a time when trade book publishing is dominated by a few large companies, we are excited to be operating at the sort of intimate scale that was once the norm; our books are no less far-reaching, for it.

We are a collegial, creative, book-loving, and extremely hard-working crew with offices near Gramercy Park in Manhattan. We offer qualifying employees benefits including health, dental, matching 401(k), and access to Citi Bikes via our corporate Citi Bike membership.

All are welcome, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristics.
