About the role:

Cambridge University Press is looking for a talented and experienced editor to join our Humanities and Social Sciences Books Team. This is a key editorial position with responsibility for commissioning new products in US and Latin American History whilst managing a prestigious list of existing titles and working to grow the Cambridge market share worldwide.

You will be responsible for acquiring titles to meet ambitious targets to develop new scholarly, trade, textbook, and reference titles across print and digital formats, supporting authors to develop market-leading content, and working closely with sales, marketing and production colleagues in order to maximise that content’s impact around the world.

About you:

As part of a busy international team, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, initiative and enthusiasm together with an understanding of the commercial and scholarly demands of a leading university press.

The successful applicant will be degree qualified and have relevant academic publishing experience. The ability to demonstrate how you have previously managed and grown a product list through new commissions will be essential.

The role will be based in New York, with US and international travel to attend conferences and meetings.
