Requirements:
Tor Books is seeking a marketing manager to plan and execute marketing plans, with an emphasis on digital marketing initiatives. This position reports to and helps support the senior marketing manager. It requires close collaboration with publicity, editorial, and ad/promo departments. Tor Books is home to an internationally-renowned, multiple award-winning science fiction, fantasy, and horror publishing program.

Major Responsibilities:
• Work in conjunction with the Tor Senior Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing Coordinator to create, organize, and schedule digital content for Tor's social media platforms, blog, and newsletters
• Develop and schedule Tor Books monthly newsletter
• Responsible for managing Tor's Books blog, including content creation and scheduling
• Help write and schedule posts on Tor Books social media platforms
• Create per title marketing plans, including digital strategies
• Collaborate closely with publicity and ad/promo to ensure coordinated strategies
• Write copy for advertising and promotional items
• Run AMS, Facebook and other paid social media campaigns
• Provide written details of marketing campaigns for pitches, marketing launches, and internal and external presentations
• Organize mailings for bookstores and industry big mouths
• Track marketing expenses and ensure budgets are maintained
• Provide analysis and report on marketing initiatives results and share data and feedback when appropriate

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Organized, enthusiastic, creative, work collaboratively with others across multiple groups, a problem solver, deadline oriented and work well under pressure
• MS Office, Wordpress basics, Photoshop, Dreamweaver or Basic HTML preferred
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects – good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently
• Creative writing experience a plus
• Familiarity with social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
• Comfortable with learning new technologies

Experience Needed:

• 3-4 years of publishing marketing experience

Educational Background Required:

• College degree or equivalent work experience
