Requirements:
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in developing and executing the product and channel marketing plans for Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI). They will also assist in developing and implementing CPI’s digital marketing and e-commerce strategy. Additional responsibilities include supporting authors in their promotional activities, and CPI’s events strategy. Incumbent may also work on select marketing projects, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Assists in the development and execution of product and channel marketing plans to support all CPI products, authors, and customers.

· Implement multi-channel campaigns via email, social media, print and digital advertising, trade shows and events, publicity programs, direct mail, and other available outlets.

· Collaborate with Editorial, Production, and Sales teams, colleagues in the parent company, authors, and outside creative staff in the development and execution of product marketing plans.

· Manage, execute and optimize email campaigns.

· Develop budgets in consultation with the Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, and other colleagues.

· Responsible for select product line P&Ls.

· Primary advocate for and owner of select product lines.

· Participates in pricing, new product development, packaging (cover design), market research, and distribution decisions.

· Assist in trade show and event planning and logistics.

· Special projects, as necessary.

o Relevant experience in developing and executing marketing plans in a book publishing environment.

o Experience marketing religious books and related products, a plus.

o Proven experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram; email marketing, and digital marketing strategies.

o Solid understanding of the creative process – working with designers, copywriters, publicists to conceive, develop and execute marketing programs.

o Solid understanding of publishing functions and routines.

o Highly organized with an ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and meet deadlines.

o Excellent analytical skills.

o Book PR/publicity experience, a plus.

o Coordination, planning of trade shows and events, a plus.

o Ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry and environment. Agile, adept at adapting to change and dealing with unstructured opportunities and challenges.

o Nimble and flexible in juggling workload/responsibilities.

o Proficient in basic computer applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of basic HTML and Adobe Acrobat a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s Degree, Humanities or Business majors preferred.

· 5+ years marketing experience in the book publishing industry. Experience marketing religious books and products such as church supplies, and faith formation resources a plus.

· 3+ years’ experience marketing products using social media, digital marketing, and other channels.
