Chronicle Books is looking for an Editorial Assistant to join the Entertainment publishing team. This person will provide administrative, acquisition, and editorial support working on books, formats, and board games in categories including humor, pets, movies, and pop culture licenses such as Disney, Pixar, and Lucasfilm.

With effective editorial and administrative assistance, this person will support the Entertainment Editors, take part in the generation of new projects, review submissions and manuscripts and engage in copywriting. They will also act as the main point of contact throughout the editorial process and licensing approval process and engage in consumer research and identifying publishing opportunities.

Qualified candidates should exhibit strong organization skills, attention to detail, multitasking abilities and effective communication facilities. This is a role for a self-starter who can work autonomously as well as with a team. In addition, computer skills including Word, Excel and Powerpoint proficiency are needed along with a minimum of one year's professional experience, ideally in a publishing and/or editorial environment. Lastly, candidates should share our passion for pop culture and books!
